Cornbread Dressing Recipe

These tasty cornbread dressing recipes can be the centerpiece for the holidays or other occasions. You can easily make these yourself although it’s fun to do with the rest of the family too.

Chicken Cornbread

Ingredients

6 cups of cornbread
2 cups of onion
3 cups of bread crumbs
1 cup of celery (chopped)
1 tbsp of sage (dried)
4 cups of chicken broth
2 cups of onion (minced)
1 tsp of salt
1 tsp of marjoram (dried)
1 tsp of leaf thyme
2 cups of chicken
½ tsp of rosemary
2 eggs (beaten)
½ tsp of ground black pepper
4 ounces of butter

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Pour the cornbread and bread crumbs in a bowl. To make this cornbread dressing recipe, you must sauté the onion and celery using the butter. Sauté until they become tender, not brown.

Add the two with the bread mix. Add the chicken and stir. Toss in the seasoning and the eggs. Blend all the ingredients. Pour this in a 10 x 15 baking pan. Bake for half an hour.

Cornbread with Oysters

Ingredients

3 cups of celery (chopped)
1 cup of onion (chopped)
4 cups of herb stuffing cubes
1 pint of oysters (drain the liquid but reserve it)
½ cup of pecans
4 cups of cornbread crumbs
1 cup of margarine
4 tsp of sage
1 tsp of thyme
2 cans of chicken broth

Instructions

Begin this simple cornbread dressing recipe by sautéing the onion and garlic with the margarine. Get a bowl and combine all the ingredients. Spread this on the baking dish. Put a foil over it. Bake it for 45 minutes at 325 degrees.

Cornbread with Chicken Soup

Ingredients

8 bread slices (cubed)
Cornbread (8 inch pan)
1 onion (medium)
½ cup of celery (chopped)
2 tsp of poultry seasoning
2 cans of chicken soup
3 tbsp of butter
½ tsp of black pepper
4 eggs

Instructions

Grease the crock pot. Put the cornbread in a bowl and crush it. Throw in all the ingredients with the exception of the butter. Carefully pour this concoction into the crock pot. Add the butter. Cook this homemade cornbread dressing recipe by setting the crock pot to high. Cook for 2 hours.

Cornbread with Tamales

Ingredients

2 pans of cornbread (9 inch)
1 cup of celery (chopped)
1 cup of onion (minced)
1 cup of green pepper
6 ounces of butter
1 garlic clove (chopped)
3 eggs (beaten)
1/3 cup of broth
White bread (a couple of slices)
9 canned tamales (mashed)
1 tsp of salt
1 tsp of cayenne pepper

Instructions

Toss the cornbread in a mixing bowl. Prepare the skillet and sauté the onion celery and onion. When it’s tender, add it to the cornbread. Pour the broth in the cornbread. Immerse the slice bread in the broth. Add it to the cornbread mix. Throw in all the other ingredients. Set this on a 2 quart casserole. Bake for half an hour at 350 degrees.
