Rump Roast Recipe

Rump Roast with Spices

Ingredients

¼ cup of water
2 tbsp of sugar
1 ½ tsp of ginger
1 tsp of thyme (crushed)
1 rump roast (boneless, 3 lbs)
1 tsp of garlic cloves (minced)
½ cup of soy sauce

Instructions

Mix the water, soy sauce and sugar. Add the garlic and thyme. Mix and put in a storage bag. Piece the meat and insert it in the bag. Zip the bag and turn it over several times. Ingredients

4 lbs of rump roast
1 tsp of garlic powder

1 can of mushroom soup
3 tbsp of red wine vinegar
1/3 cup of flour
¼ tsp of pepper
½ tsp of salt

Instructions

Start this rump roast recipe by coating the roast with flour. Sprinkle it with pepper, garlic and salt. Cook it in a skillet until the sides brown. Combine the remaining ingredients in the slow cooker. Toss in the roast. Turn it around so the meat gets soaked. Cook it for 8 hours on low.

Rump Roast with Brown Sugar

Ingredients

4 lbs of rump roast
½ cup of water
2 tbsp of oil
2 onions (medium, chopped)
½ cup of packed brown sugar
1/8 tsp of allspice
Flour
2/3 cup of vinegar

Instructions

Cook the roast at medium low heat until it turns brown. Add the garlic and onion. Cook it for another 5 minutes. Add the pepper and salt. Pour in the vinegar and water. Add more flavor to this homemade rump roast recipe by adding the sugar and allspice. Put the cover on. Cook it for 4 hours. Take out the meat. Add 2 tbsp of flour and cold water to the sauce. Stir it until it gets thick.

Tips

You can purchase ready made gravy but you can also make one yourself. What you do is get the juices from where you cooked the roast. Take out the excess fat. Pour in about 1 cup of the juices back in the skillet. Add ½ of water and ¾ of flour. Mix it and add to the juices. Mix until the sauce gets as thick as you want it to be.
