But in reality, you don’t have to purchase them at all because you can actually made one of your own. Try these best recipes for veggie burgers to enjoy anytime of the day.

Spicy Vegetarian Black Bean Burger

This is one of the best bean burgers that you need to try because it is both spicy and flavorful.

Ingredients:

one 15-ounce can of black beans, drained
one-half onion, diced
one teaspoon of hot sauce
one-half of yellow or red bell pepper, diced (this is optional)
one-half teaspoon of cayenne pepper
one Ener-G egg replacer
one cup of bread crumbs
oil for frying (this is optional)

Cooking Directions:

Pour the beans in a large bowl and mash thoroughly then combine the remaining ingredients and mix well. Press the mixture firmly and form into patties then fry using a little oil. Other than frying, you can also grill the patty over the barbecue.

Potato Veggie Burgers

It is true that potatoes are also best ingredients for veggie burgers.

Ingredients:

one cup of canned black beans
one piece of carrot, grated
one-half of onion, diced
three pieces of potatoes, grated
four pieces of scallions, chopped
one cup of corn
salt and pepper to taste
olive oil for frying

Cooking Directions:

Using a potato masher of a fork, mash the beans and add in the rest of the ingredients and mix well. Make into patties and fry using two tablespoons of olive oil until the burgers are cooked. It will take about three minutes to cook each side of the patties.

Tofu Veggie Burgers

Ingredients:

one-half pound of firm tofu, drained and mashed
one piece of onion, diced
two tablespoons of wheat germ
two tablespoons of flour
two tablespoons of soy sauce
a pinch of salt and pepper, to taste
oil to be use for frying

Cooking Directions:

Combine thoroughly all of the ingredients in a large bowl and shape them into patties. Fry the patties in oil over a medium high heat until they become brown and crispy or until done.

TVP Veggie Burgers

One of the best vegetarian TVP burgers that are rich in protein and gives the kick in each bite.

Ingredients:

two-thirds of a cup of TVP (Textured Vegetable Protein)
one and one-fourth cups of vegetable broth
one egg, beaten
one and a half cups of flour
one onion, diced
one tablespoon of ketchup
one-half teaspoon of oregano
one-half teaspoon of chili powder
one-fourth teaspoon of cayenne powder
a pinch of salt and pepper, to taste
oil for frying (this is optional)

Cooking Directions:

Put the TVP in a large bowl together with the vegetable broth. Let it stand for at least 15 minutes to rehydrate the TVP and all the liquid will be absorbed then drain out the excess moisture.

Combine thoroughly the TVP with the rest of the ingredients. Adding a little more or less than a cup of flour may be necessary to achieve the correct sticky consistency of the mixture.

Shape into patties and fry until lightly brown or you can grill the patties on a lightly greased barbecue.
