Corn Chowder Recipe

Corn Chowder with Bacon

Ingredients

5 cups of corn kernels
1 cup of water
½ cup of green pepper (diced)
1 cup of onions (minced)
6 strips of bacon
1 clove garlic (minced)
1 tsp of oregano leaves
2 cups of milk
2 beaten eggs
¼ tsp of ground white pepper
1 ½ tsp of salt

Instructions

Remove the corn kernels from the cobs. Put this on a plate. Cook the bacon until it turns crisp. Place it on paper towels. For this corn chowder recipe, you should remove all the drippings save for 2 teaspoons’ worth in the pan.

Cook the onions in the juice. Add the pepper and garlic. Cook this for 5 minutes. Add the corn, oregano and salt. Add the water and pepper. Boil this and then reduce the heat.

Cover it. Let it simmer for 5 minutes. Combine the milk and eggs. Throw this into the mixture you made earlier. Turn it to low heat. Cook for 8 minutes.

Corn Chowder with Cheddar

Ingredients

3 ribs celery (chopped)
3 cups of chicken broth
1 lb of sausage
3 tbsp of flour
½ tsp of thyme
¼ tsp of pepper
½ tsp of salt
1 clove garlic (minced)
1 onion (medium, chopped)
1 cup of cheddar cheese (this corn chowder recipe requires the cheese to be grated)
3 tsp of fresh parsley (chopped)
3 cups of potatoes (chopped)
1 carrot (chopped)
1 can of corn (drained with peppers)
1 cup of cream

Instructions

Cook the sausages in a pan. Add the garlic, onion and celery. Throw away the rest of the fat and add the flour. Pour in the chicken broth. Add the rest of the seasonings. Toss in the rest of the vegetables. Lower the heat settings. Put the cover on and let it
simmer for 15 minutes.

Next, add the cheese and cream. Keep heating until the cheese dissolves. Add more salt and pepper to this homemade corn chowder recipe if needed.

Corn Chowder with Carrots

Ingredients

2 ½ cups of potatoes (diced)
1 ½ tsp of salt
3 bacon strips
4 tsp of onion (minced)
1 ½ tsp of salt
15 ounce can of cream style corn
1 cup of carrot
2 cups of milk
1/8 cup of black pepper
1 cup of boiling water
½ cup of celery
1 cup of corn kernels

Instructions

Cook the bacon with onion and garlic. Keep cooking until the onion gets soft. Throw in the potatoes, carrot and celery. Pour in the boiling water. Cook for 10 minutes (covered). Stir it every now and then. Toss in the corn and milk. Add some more pepper and salt. Let it boil. This is served hot.

The ingredients in these tasty corn chowder recipes can be changed. You can add some peppers if you want it spicy, for instance. You’ll probably have as much fun trying out different seasonings as eating it.
