These tasty pound cake recipes will be the perfect way to end your dinner. You can also make several of these treats on special occasions.
Chocolate Pound Cake
2 square of chocolate (unsweetened)
¼ tsp of salt
1 tsp of vanilla extract
1 tsp of baking soda
½ cup of butter (room temp)
1 ½ cup of light brown sugar (packed)
½ sour cream
1 cup of boiling water
Pour the water in a small bowl. Add the chocolate. Let it melt and cool for 15 to 20 minutes. Flour a tube cake pan. Heat the oven to a temp of 325 degrees. Put flour into a bowl. Add salt and baking soda and sift them.
Continue making this pound cake recipe by mixing butter and sugar in a bowl. Add the vanilla and the eggs. Add these ingredients together. Beat it until it becomes fluffy.
Set the mixer speed to low. Add the flour and sour cream alternately. The final part added will be the flour. Add the chocolate and blend it. Transfer this into a baking pan. Bake for 60 minutes.
After cooking, leave the cake in the pan for 15 minutes so it will cool down. Take it off the pan and put it on the rack. Let it cool down some more. Add some icing or sugar to finish off this pound cake recipe.
Pineapple Pound Cake
20 ounce can of pineapple (do not drain)
½ cup of vegetable shortening
2 cups of granulated sugar
2 sticks of butter
5 eggs (large)
1/3 cup of milk
1 tsp of vanilla extract
¼ cup of butter
1 tsp of baking powder
3 cups of all purpose flour
1 1/2 cups of confectioners’ sugar
Pour ¾ cups of the pineapple and its juice in a bowl. Place the remaining pineapple in a cup (minus the juice). Get another bowl and mix the shortening, sugar and butter. To make this simple pound cake recipe correctly, add the eggs one at a time. Beat it well.
Sift the baking powder and flour together. Put one spoonful in the cream mix. Keep adding spoonfuls of the powder alternating it with the milk. Add them slowly and keep stirring.
Toss in the vanilla. Add the pineapple (with the juices). Mix these well. Transfer this batter into a 10 inch tube pan. Put this mixture in a cold oven. Turn it on to 325 degrees. Bake it for 90 minutes. Touch the top; when it springs back, it’s done. Allow the cake to cool down for 10 minutes.
Use the knife to remove the cake from the rack. Be careful when you do this that you don’t damage the cake. Get the drained pineapple. Add some sugar and butter to it. Mix these together and spread on top of the cake. Do this while the cake is still hot.
These pound cake recipes can be topped with sugar or other icing. You can add some choco chips or icing to make it even more luscious.
