Crab Cake Recipe

There are a lot of ways to make tasty crab cake recipes. For those who’ve never tried their hand at making these treats, the following should get you started on the right track.

Cajun Crab Cake

Ingredients

2 egg whites (beaten lightly)
2 tbsp of mayonnaise
3 tsp of fresh parsley
½ cup of bread crumbs
1 tsp of dry mustard
½ tsp of ground black pepper
1 tsp of Worcestershire sauce
1 lb of lump crab meat (drained)
2 tsp of Cajun seasoning

Instructions

Place the following in a mixing bowl: the egg whites, Cajun seasoning and the dry mustard. Add the Worcestershire sauce. Mix this and add the crabmeat and bread crumbs. For this crab cake recipe, you need to make this mixture into patty shapes. Make eight of them, about 2 and a half inches in diameter.

Put the patties on a baking sheet. Chill it for an hour. Put some non stick spray on the skillet. Set on medium high heat. When the skillet gets hot, add the patties. Cook it for 6 to 8 minutes (3 to 4 minutes per side).

Spicy Crab Cake

Ingredients

1 lb of lump crab meat
2 tbsp of mayonnaise
4 onions (medium, chopped)
9 drops of hot pepper sauce
1 tbsp of Worcestershire sauce
1 red chili pepper (crushed)
2 tbsp of dry mustard
2 egg whites (lightly beaten)
½ tsp of ground black pepper
½ tsp of salt
1 cup of crackers (for this crab cake recipe, bread crumbs will also do)
Olive oil spray

Instructions

Drain the meat of liquid and take out any flakes. Place the crabmeat in a bowl and cover it with mayonnaise. Add in the Worcestershire sauce, dry mustard and onions. Toss in the chili pepper and the hot pepper sauce. Add the egg whites, salt and pepper.

Set the crackers on a plate. Spray some salt and pepper on it. Shape the cakes like a patty and coat it with the crackers. Make another patty shape and repeat the process. You’re almost done with this simple crab cake recipe. Coat the skillet with some olive oil spray. Add in the crab meat. Cook each side for 5 minutes.

Crab Cake / Muffin

Ingredients

½ cup of onions (chopped)
2 beaten eggs
½ cup of celery (chopped)
1 lb of crab meat
½ tsp of prepared mustard
Bread slices (8 to 10, crumbled)
1 tbsp of butter

Instructions

Melt the butter in a skillet (medium heat). Toss in the celery and onion. Sauté it for 5 minutes (wait for the onion to turn transparent). Put the crab meat in a bowl. Add the eggs, onions and celery.

Add the mustard and stir. Toss in the bread crumbs. Sprinkle a bit of the crab juice to dampen it a bit. Grease the muffin pan. Fill it 2/3 of the way. Bake it at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.
