Ingredients

Prepare the following simple ingredients for this egg salad recipe: Ten to fifteen hard boiled eggs, 4 spoons vinegar, 7 spoons of olive oil, a full bundle of chilled crisp lettuce (sliced into halves), one small sliced cucumber, two teaspoons of black pepper powder, some mayonnaise, salt to taste (or fish sauce), and a few chopped garlic pieces.

How to Hard-Boil Eggs for an Egg Salad Recipe

Place eggs (in this case seven) in a pot. Pour in clean water. Make sure the water level is just above the eggs. Boil on high fire for 20 to 25 minutes. Always check on the eggs, especially when light cracks appear on the shell. If they do appear before the 20 or so minutes are up, take them out of the pot. Making them remain longer would crack open the shells. This is vital on how to prepare healthy egg salads.

Mixing the Ingredients

Put boiled eggs in a bowl and pour cold water over them. Never neglect this part as it makes egg shells easy to peel off. Without this step, peeling the shells will be a difficult task because the white would stick to the shell and damage the form and surface of the eggs as they are being peeled off. Soak them in cold water for a minute or two before peeling off.

Mix all the ingredients of this egg salad recipe except for the olive oil and garlic pieces. Then heat the olive oil on a pan over medium fire and sauté the garlic until brown. Pour the heated oil with the sautéed garlic on the mixed veggies. Cover the bowl and shake everything vertically and horizontally.

Slice the peeled off hard boiled eggs, either in helves of in three sections. Put some mayonnaise on them. Place the mixed veggies on the center of a salad plate or bowl and carefully place the sliced eggs with mayonnaise at the sides. Placing four whole hard boiled eggs (or halves) together on top of the veggies is optional. It is a good décor to accentuate the salad.
